Algeria Accelerates Digital Transformation in Masila with Fiber and Mobile Upgrades

Masila, Algeria — September 15, 2025 – The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has announced significant progress in Algeria’s digital infrastructure, with Masila at the forefront of a major upgrade in fiber optic and mobile networks.

On September 11, 2025, over 17,000 new Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) lines were commissioned across Masila municipalities. An additional 28,000 lines are currently being deployed and are expected to be completed by October 2025.

In parallel, three new Mobilis stations have been activated, significantly boosting mobile coverage and capacity. More than ten additional stations are scheduled to launch soon, ensuring wider and more reliable connectivity across the region.

These advancements will provide:

  • Faster, more reliable internet services.
  • Stronger mobile coverage.
  • Enhanced access to education, business, and social opportunities.

The initiative is part of Algeria’s national digital strategy, with the government aiming to achieve full fiber optic coverage by 2027 under its “Digital Algeria 2030” program.
